FIVE of our followers out of many will be given art of themselves and their bias. These FIVE followers will be written down on a list, which will then be put into a web generator that will randomly select FOUR of you. What about the FIFTH follower?

Another random drawing will be done but only ONE PERSON will be randomly chosen. This FIFTH PERSON will be winning an 11 x 19 in realistic watercolor painting of themselves and their bias, alongside a sticker of themselves and their bias in a little doodle bit. These items will be shipped to them!

for a while i was confused as to why people were shipping Sasuke Uchiha with Mercy from Overwatch until I found out they actually final fantasy characters
who can’t pull up the strength to do their homework or study
who get low grades because of their mental illness
who are constantly under pressure to do well in school by their parents
who have parents that think depression or anxiety is just an excuse for being “lazy”
who have parents that tell them that they had it harder when they were young
who, because of the stereotype that all asians are smart, constantly doubt themselves and their abilities
who suffer because of the stigma around mental illness in asian cultures
your grades, your abilities, and your parent’s perception of you do not make up your worth. you’re doing your best, and i’m endlessly proud of you.
why did you have to label it on asian kids, it applies to everyone.
asian kids face extreme pressure from their families to perform well in academia. its engrained in our cultures and asian kids with mental illnesses who can’t perform to the expectations of their parents face crippling self doubt and hatred. because of the mental illness stigma in the asian community no one speaks up to support these struggling students. they need to know that they still matter and that their grades don’t define them, because no one else will tell them that in real life. so stop being an asshole, and let the asian kids have their post.

and the worst part is that all our hard work gets erased by whites because “oh you don’t have to try at anything, you’re asian”
while other kids get rewarded for bringing home the A’s and 100’s, we’re expected to get those grades. it’s been engraved into our minds that if we get lower than an A, we’re worthless. we get beat for not being smart enough. we’re constantly compared to other asian kids. we’re forced to hear mocking jokes about how we’re asian so we should be getting good grades as if the color of our skin somehow contributes to our IQ levels.
lately i’ve been replacing my “i’m sorry”s with “thank you”s, like instead of “sorry i’m late” i’ll say “thanks for waiting for me”, or instead of “sorry for being such a mess” i’ll say “thank you for loving me and caring about me unconditionally” and it’s not only shifted the way i think and feel about myself but also improved my relationships with others who now get to receive my gratitude instead of my negativity
